button<\/strong> on the base unit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>register handset<\/strong> option within your handset&#8217;s menu options.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-css-opacity has-luminous-vivid-orange-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-finding-the-find-button-on-the-base-unit\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Finding_the_%E2%80%9CFind%E2%80%9D_Button_on_the_Base_unit\"><\/span>Finding the \u201cFind\u201d Button on the Base unit.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On your base unit, you\u2019ll need to look for the <strong>\u201cFind\u201d<\/strong> button. <br>This is the button you\u2019d press if you lost your handsets. &nbsp;<br>When you press this once it should ring all of your currently registered handsets.&nbsp; This usually compromises phone-book entries, last numbers called, answering machine messages and, almost always, a <strong>set-up menu. <\/strong><br><br>If you browse through the <strong>set-up menu<\/strong> you should find a <strong>\u201cRegister Handset\u201d<\/strong> option.&nbsp; This is what you\u2019re looking for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-css-opacity has-luminous-vivid-orange-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-by-step\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step-by-step\"><\/span>Step-by-step<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>To put the base unit into registration mode you\u2019ll need to <strong>press and hold<\/strong> the \u201cfind\u201d Button for anywhere between 3 to 10 seconds. <br><br>This time can vary between brands, however, depending on the phone&#8217;s model you should hear an audible beep to say that the base is in registration mode. It will be a continuous beeping or flashing indicator. Some systems give you no indication at all.  You can still try the next step if this is the case \u2013 it\u2019s the best way to find out.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the base unit is in registration mode, you\u2019ll need to browse your handset\u2019s menus and find the &#8220;register handset&#8221; option.&nbsp;<strong>Select that.<\/strong><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your handset should now briefly display something along the lines of a \u201c<strong>searching<\/strong>&#8230;\u201d message.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You should soon hear a beep, or see a message on the handset indicating success&#8230;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The next step is usually a pin code.&nbsp; <br>The default pin code on 99.9% of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmctelecom.co.uk\/blog\/top-10-best-cordless-dect-phones\/\">Cordless DECT phones<\/a> is <strong>0000<\/strong>.&nbsp; <br>If you haven\u2019t ever changed your base pin code, enter <strong>0000 <\/strong>at this stage and <strong>confirm<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The handset should give some indication that it has been registered at this point.<br>You should hear an audible beep, or see flash, or a message on the handset.&nbsp; <br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The best way to test if the handset has registered is to try and make a call on the handset.&nbsp; <br>If you can hear a dialling tone, then you&#8217;ve been sucessful. The handset is now registered!<br>If not, you can run through this process as many times as you need to.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>You can always refer to the instruction manual that came with your phone if you&#8217;re not sure about any of the steps detailed here.
